metal work....
I apprenticed with a furniture designer in NYC, jimzivicdesign.com . Most of my work involved the grinding and patina finish. Patina is a process in which you oxidize metal to give it a gunmetal look.
This building was built in 1999 in Alphabet City. We were commissioned to patina the awning and window frames.

The summer I did this job was particularly challenging because it rained constantly. We even had Hurricane Floyd threaten our working conditions.

I used to live in Montana where I did quite a bit of fly fishing which inspired these two pieces
canoe.... bailing wire and welding rod

fly fisherman... sheet metal, bailing wire, stainless steel fishing line finshed off with a beaded nymph fly

The High School at Randolph Air Force base commissioned me to make their mascot. I realize this photo is from too far away. Their mascot is a creature I've never heard of - a Ro-Hawk - which is basically a hawk on a rocket. I hand forged the hawk. The talons are made out of rebar and the rocket is stainless steel.
